4 Big Budget Bollywood Movies That Fell Flat

There are a large number of people who watch movies in India. Every producer-director in Bollywood, before making a film, knows what audience his film is for. The producers also pour money into the film thinking the same thing. But sometimes that bet doesn’t work. The film fails to please its target audience and falls flat at the box office.

Hindustan thugs

The movie was full of big names in Bollywood. The film starred Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead roles. The budget for this movie was around 300 crores. But the film became a box office flop. The film could only pull off about half of its budget and its total Indian box office collection was around 150 crore.

Dhaakad

Within a week of its release, Dhaakad was one of the biggest flops in Bollywood history. There is no doubt about Kangana Ranaut’s performance. In the movie, Kangana Ranaut had good actors like Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta. But audiences rejected the film outright at the box office. Looking at the movie’s earnings, let’s say if audiences weren’t going to see this movie even to deny it, then that wouldn’t be an exaggeration. Dhaakad was made on a budget of around 80 crores but earned only 3-4 crores at the box office.

Samrat Prithviraj

It is another film under the Yash Raj banner which is one of the biggest failures of 2022. Samrat Prithviraj was an ambitious project by Yash Raj Films. You can guess from its 300 crore budget, how much the makers expected from this movie. However, those who watched the movie did not understand where 300 crores was spent. Even Akshay Kumar couldn’t save the movie in front of the audience and the movie couldn’t even reach the 100 crore mark.

Bombay Velvet

Anurag Kashyap is known for making films with less money and less resources. However, Bombay Velvet’s case was different. It was the most ambitious film of Anurag Kashyap’s career so far. For this, Anurag had erected the entire Bombay plateau a few decades ago.
