Kaagaz

Pankaj Tripathi starrer released in January of this year giving a lot of hope with its sincere and real story. The film was presented by Salman Khan and directed by Satish Kaushik. The film tells the story of Bharat Lal aka Lal Bihar who belongs to Azamgarh and fought battles in the courts for 18 years to prove he is alive.
The director in one of his interviews said: “I did a lot of research on the events that took place in his life, finally I felt that this story was worth telling the world. and we couldn’t have asked for a better production partner than Salman Khan Films (SKF) and then ZEE5 to present it, now audiences are just one click away.

The one-off film tells the story of a widow who isn’t quite as devastated by her husband’s death as society expects. Sanya Malhotra in the lead role delicately recounts the struggle of a woman who fails to create her own life and is pushed into an arranged marriage. The film also portrays the drama that takes place in a middle class family in a way that makes audiences laugh. It was directed by Umesh Bist and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Sikhya Entertainment.
Ram Prasad ki Tehrvi
Platform: Netflix
The film after its release impressed audiences with its one-of-a-kind plot based on the funeral of an elderly family member. The bourgeois Bhargava family meets for 13 days to perform the last sacraments of the head of the family, interpreted by Naseeruddin Shah. The film was directed and written by Seema Pahwa. The film has a rich ensemble cast starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Supriya Pathak, Vikrant Massey, among others. Jio Studios produced the film with Drishyam Films which was released in January 2019.
Sardar Ka Grandson
Platform: Netflix
Arjun Kapoor starrer released in May this year. In the film, he is seen as someone who can do anything to make his grandmother, Sardar’s last wish, come true. The role of Sardar was played by Neena Gupta. Written by Anuja Chauhan, the film was directed by Kaashvie Nair with dialogue from Amitosh Nagpal. It has been called a cross-border love affair. Actors such as Rakulpreet Singh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Soni Razdan, Kanwaljit Singh, Kumud Mishra, and John Abraham are also seen in the film trying out pivotal roles.
Mimi
Platform: Netflix
Laxman Utekar Directional released in July of this year. Starring Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead roles, the story of a surrogate mother who sees everything is going wrong. It was adapted from a national award-winning Marathi film titled Mala Aai Vhhaychy. Actors such as Supriya Pathak, Sai Tamhankar, Manoj Pahwa, among others, play essential roles. Sanon, who plays the surrogate in the film, learns that the foreign couple who asked him to be their surrogate can’t go ahead with the plan. It was then that she decided to raise the child on her own and she faces many difficulties in achieving it.
