The actress made her big debut in the industry with Aditya Chopra’s 2008 film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi starring Shah Rukh Khan and since then Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress hasn’t looked in back.

The film’s director, Imitiaz Ali, first approached Anushka for the role of Tara, but the actress was apparently unhappy with it and turned down the film. Later, Deepika Padukone tried out for the role alongside Ranbir Kapoor in the film.

Apparently, the film was first offered to Anushka but she turned it down and so it went to Kareena Kapoor Khan who tried out for the role of Kia Sahni with Arjun Kapoor playing Kabir Bansal. The film was also praised by netizens and it was also a box office success.

Farhan Akhtra, the producer of the film, had asked Anushka Sharma to play the main character of the film, but she refused the offer and she could not join. The role was then offered to Katrina Kaif.

3 Idiots is widely regarded as one of the most iconic Bollywood films of all time, directed by Rajkumar Hirani and loosely adapted from the novel Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat. Apparently this time Anushka didn’t reject the movie, in fact she had auditioned for this hit movie but Hirani rejected her. However, the director cast Kareena Kapoor Khan for the role. It starred Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi in the lead roles.

The film is based on Chetan Bhagat’s 2009 novel 2 States: The Story of My Marriage. Anushka was reportedly approached to play the lead role in the film. However, she turned it down because she wouldn’t have found the storyline very compelling. Later, Alia Bhatt joined the film alongside Arjun Kapoor.
