Aparshakti Khurana is one of those promising actors who have yet to show their full potential. Although widely known for portraying comic characters in relief, Aparshakti is now ready to get serious with his next project. In director Kookie Gulati’s upcoming film, ‘Dhokha – Round D Corner’, we will see Aparshakti play a Kashmiri activist.
Speaking about venturing into this new genre, the actor told IANS, “Har tarike ka kaam hona chahiye. I think I have a lot of sides to my overall personality. When I was doing theater in Delhi, I didn’t I only had intense, dark roles and I would tell my director that I think my comedic side is really good.”
He added: “But the director was saying ‘no Apar, there is anger and intensity in your eyes, which will go very well with negative characters’. But when I started making films, people only saw me in comedic roles. Then I thought that each stage had a different acceptance. I’m happy now that the other side of me as an artist, which is an intense or negative nuance, can be delivered now. I have tried to show different sides of myself as a performer and I hope audiences accept me in this new version on the big screen.
Also featuring R Madhavan, Khushali Kumar and Darshan Kumar, ‘Dhokha – Round D Corner’ will be released on September 23.
