Bhumi Pednekar is one of the most talented and sought after actresses in Bollywood and she also has a truly unique filmography. Recently, she completed 7 years in the industry and on occasion she recalls working on her first movie, “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” which also starred Ayushmann Khurrana. In this film based on the concept of body positive, Bhumi played the role of an overweight woman for whom she underwent an incredible physical transformation.
According to a recent report in ETimes, Bhumi said, “DLKH validated me not only as an actor and performer, but also as a woman trying to redefine feminism through her work. I always believed that I was becoming actor for a purpose – it was to be a part of great cinema and play great women on screen that was meant to change the narrative of how a girl is viewed by society.”
The actress added, “DLKH gave me the confidence to move forward with this ideal I had in mind and my work speaks for it today. It’s the most special movie of my life and I owe it all to DLKH because he told me that dreams become destiny.”
After that, Bhumi continued to work in films dealing with social issues. As of now, she is working on projects like ‘Bheed’, ‘The Ladykiller’, ‘Govinda Mera Naam’ and others.
