While we’ve been entertained by Dhanush in a wide variety of films on the OTT platform, the actor is set to return to theaters in the coming months. The actor will star in the next film Thiruchitrambhalam. Although it was said that the film will be released next month, it seems that the release has been pushed back to August. The latest update is that the movie will hit the big screens on August 18th.
Dhanush returns to cinema with Thiruchitrambhalam; released on August 18
Confirming the same, Dhanush took to Twitter to share a motion poster featuring him only and also announcing that he will hit theaters on August 18th. Sharing the poster, he tweeted: ‘Well it’s been a while hasn’t it? Thiruchitrambalam from August 18. See you all in theaters. Here, look :

His new caption referred to his return to cinema after three releases on OTT. His latest releases as Jagame Thanthiram, Maaranand Arangi Re all were released on streaming platforms. On the other hand, speaking of Thiruchitrambhalam, the film will feature three actresses as the female leads, including Nithya Menen, Raashii Khanna, and Priya Bhavani Shankar. The film’s makers, Sun Pictures, had released character posters of each of the actresses, describing their role in the film.
In the said posters, Nithya Menen will play the role of Shobana who is described as the “best friend” of Thiruchitrambhalam. Raashii Khanna will play modern girl Anushka, who is described as her “high school classmate”. Lastly, Priya Bhavani Shankar plays the role of Ranjani, Graamathu Thendral, aka a village belle.
Besides them, the film also features popular actor Prakash Raj in a pivotal role. Directed by Mithran Jawahar, its music is composed by the famous Anirudh Ravichander.
