Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for his artistic sets and Gujarat had been the chosen destination for his films Hum Dil From Chuke Sanam and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela.

1. Hum Dil From Chuke Sanam
The filming of Hum Dil From Chuke Sanam featuring Salman Khan, Aishwariya Rai Bachchan and Ajay Devgn was held at the spectacular Vijay Vilas Palace in Mandvi, Gujarat, near the Rajasthan-Gujarat border. The film features the ornate chambers of the palace, the striking desert, and much more.
2. Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela
Ram Leela by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a real visual treat and the film is also symbolic of the strong chemistry between Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. The filming of the film took place in the pastoral areas of Kutch. Some scenes of the film were also shot in Udaipur in Rajasthan.
3. Kai Po Che
Kai Po Che marked the debut of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput in Bollywood. The filming of Kai Po Che had taken place in Vadnagar, Ahmedabad and Diu. One of the songs from the movie, Shubhaarambh, is also mostly in the Gujarati language. The Meethi Boliyan song was filmed in Diu Fort.

4. Mohenjo Daro
The filming of Mohenjo Daro had taken place in the dramatic grounds of Bhuj and among the dilapidated old structures of Dholavira. The film is based on the Indus Valley Civilization and stars Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde.

Shah Rukh Khan’s first film Raees was filmed in the magnificent Sarkhej Roza monument in Ahmedabad. The film features a Gujarati backdrop. The team had also modified some places in Mumbai to make them look like slums in Ahmedabad. The song Udi Udi Jaye of the film carries the Gujarati flavor perfectly.
6. R. Rajkumar
We saw Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha dancing gracefully to the song Saree Ke Fall Sa of R. Rajkumar on a beautiful white desert inhabited by camels. This is India’s great salt marsh, the Rann of Kutch, where the popular Rann Utsav takes place every year.

The filming of Rustic Life in Lagaan had taken place in the village of Kunariya near Bhuj. Two prominent places in Gujarat where Aamir Khan‘s starring film was shot are Vijay Villas Palace and Prag Mahal.
8. Ok Jaanu
Although most of the film shows the iconic landmarks of Mumbai, a few of its scenes featured Gujarat’s Jama Masjid and Sabarmati Ashram.

9. Grand Masti
The multi-star comedy film was shot at Laxmi Villas Palace, Vadodara which is also the royal residence of Maharaja Simarjit Singh Gaekwad of Baroda and Maharani Radhika Raje.
10. 2 States
The filming of most of 2 states with Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor was held at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. Many scenes in the film also feature Delhi and Chennai.
