- Takht
Takht is billed as a historical film depicting the relationship between Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and his brother Dara Shikoh. The big budget project features Vicky Kaushal as the Mughal Emperor in an ensemble cast including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor. The project was announced by Karan Johar in 2019 but it was scrapped due to the pandemic.

It is a sequel to the 2008 romantic comedy film Dostana starring John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan. This is another film shelved by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Kartik Aaryan was to be chosen alongside Janhvi Kapoor. However, after a tiff from Kartik and Karan, the film was put on hold. The new hero of the film is still awaited.
- the immortal Ashwatthama
The Immortal Ashwatthama is a trilogy set in modern times. The project will be directed by Aditya Dhar and will feature Sara Ali Khan alongside Vicky Kaushal. At Koffee With Karan, Vicky revealed that he was also cast aside as Takht.

This is a long delayed film by director Shekar Kapur who cast Hrithik Roshan in the lead role. The film was officially announced in 2010 at the Cannes Film Festival. Later reports suggested that Sushant Singh Rajput replaced Hrithik in the film. However, in 2016, the director announced SSR’s separation from the project. The main role of the film is still unknown. After Sushant’s unfortunate death, the director said that if the film was made, it would be a tribute to the late actor.
- Shuddhi
Shuddhi is the most awaited movie for a long time. He was supposed to bring back the “Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon” pair, but they turned down the project for reasons they knew better. Apparently Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan have been announced as new maintainers. Karan Johar announced the film in 2013 with Karan Malhotra to direct it.
- Baiju Bawra
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is also keeping us waiting for her film Baiju Bawra. It has been reported that he will choose fan-favorite pair Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. But now it is alleged that Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh will direct the film. Fans are expected to see who will headline the film and when it will be released.

Inshallah is another Sanjay Leela Bhansali film that has been shelved. The film was said to pair Salman Khan with Alia Bhatt, which was not meant to be a good pair. The film was pushed to 2019 and there is still no news about it.
