From Bollywood movies to K-dramas, the May 2022 lineup for Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney Plus

A drama about a magician living in an abandoned theme park and a fantasy series about the life of a young girl named Momo are among the many Asian movies and shows hitting Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime in May.

To start in Japan is Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Lasting War – an upcoming Japanese Netflix Original anime film directed by Michihito Fujii. It’s one of the most controversial anime in the Netflix library, thanks to a shift to a CG-heavy animation style.

Anime fans can also look forward to the first season of Vampire in the Garden, which is a fantasy series that follows the life of Momo who is at his wit’s end. Just as she is about to leave this world, she encounters a vampire named Fine. From there, the two different species learn to co-exist in a world where humans and vampires greatly despise each other.

It will be released on Netflix on May 6.

On Netflix, K-drama fans can expect to find weekly dramas such as Tomorrow, Green Mother’s Club, and Our Blues.

From India, Netflix releases Raj Singh Chaudhary’s film Tar. The film’s cast includes acclaimed actor Anil Kapoor alongside his real-life son Harshvardhan Kapoor.

Jitendra Joshi, who Netflix fans might recognize from the hit TV series sacred gamesis also part of the film.

The film will be released on May 6.
