New Delhi, September 25 (IANS): Delhi will witness a magnificent performance of Ayodhya’s Ram Temple – with an area of 1200 meters and a height of 79 feet, a grand Ram Temple complex is in the works in the nation’s capital.
This imposing set of Ram temples will be the main stage for ‘Lav Kush’ Ramlila – one of the largest Ramlila in the country to be held at the Red Fort. Ramlila is a representation of the Ramayana epic through a series of scenes including narration, recital, dialogue and songs. What makes the occasion more special this time around is that this Ramlila will feature three serving Union ministers in different roles. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Fagan Singh Kulaste and Ashwini Choubey will show their skills beyond the realm of politics.
Moreover, a dozen Bollywood actors will also be part of this performance. Ravana will be played by well-known actor Akhilendra Mishra, who played a big role in Salman Khan‘s starring Ready and rose to popularity on Indian television with the role of Kroor Singh. Raghav Tiwari, seen in many movies including Mary Kom, Chalo Dilli, Hamari Wali Good Newwz, The Pushkar Lodge, Ranthambore, will play the role of Ram. The famous Indian singer Jasvir Singh Jassi will also play an important role in this Ramlila.
Speaking exclusively to IANS, Luv Kush Ramlila Chairman Arjun Kumar said Ashwini Choubey, Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, will play the role of Maharishi Vishwamitra. Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State for Steel and Rural Development, will play the role of Nishad Raj. And the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Arjun Ram Meghwal will perform and present a bhajan in this Ramlila.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Murmu were invited as chief guests on the day of Dussehra. According to Gaurav Suri, Vice President of Ramleela, not only eminent politicians but well-known Bollywood stars and TV personalities will also be seen in prominent roles in this Ramlila.
It should be noted that Devlina Chatterjee played significant roles, including Sita, in many religious series. Asrani will play the role of Narad. The famous Indian singer Jasvir Singh Jassi will be Meghnad.
BJP MP for Lok Sabha and former Delhi state BJP chairman Manoj Tiwari will be seen as the boatman who takes Lord Ram across the Ganges. TV actor Arun Mandola will be Laxman. Renowned artist Nirbhay Wadhwa has been cast for the role of Hanuman.
Senior member of Luv Kush Ramlila, Ranjan Chopra has said that former Delhi mayor Avtar Singh will play Kumbhakaran while senior BJP leader and Delhi Assembly opposition leader Vijender Gupta will play the father of Sita, Janak. Aam Aadmi party leader Brijesh Goyal will be seen in the role of Angad in this Ramlila.
South Indian superstar and hero of one of the country’s biggest blockbuster movies, “Bahubali”, Prabhas will kill Ravana in this Ramlila which will be held at Red Fort. Arjun Kumar hopes Prime Minister Modi will burn Ravana’s effigy on the occasion of Dussehra, during which actor Prabhas will also be present with the Prime Minister.
However, the Prime Minister’s office has yet to confirm his attendance. In a situation where the Prime Minister cannot come, then Prabhas will burn Ravana’s effigy. Prabhas will join Ramlila from Delhi on Dussehra day due to preparation for his upcoming film Aadi Purush.
After the pandemic, it will be the first time that Ramlila will be organized on such a large scale. This adds significantly to the enthusiasm of organizers, who say thousands of people are expected for the event. With this in mind, adequate security arrangements are also made on a large scale.
