As every actor in the tiniest of roles shines in Sanjay Leela Bhansali Gangubai Kathiawadi there is an actor who appears on a single stage as a guest at a party hosted by Ajay Devgn, and you cannot miss him. It is none other than veteran actor Raza Murad who agreed to be part of the film for Bhansali’s sake.
Bhansali says, “I consider Raza Murad Saab to be my lucky mascot. He’s been in my last three movies. And they were all successes. It MUST be part of Gangubai Kathiawadi, no matter how. There was no full role for him this time around, so I just asked him to be part of a party sequence. He accepted sportingly.
Raza Murad says: “I am the only actor to have worked with him in four consecutive films. There was no suitable role for me in Gangubai Kathiawadi. So Sanjay Sir told me he wanted me in the movie because I’m his lucky mascot, so I happily agreed to be a small part of Gangubai.
Raza Murad considers it his luck to have worked several times with Raj Kapoor and Sanjay Bhansali. “I feel very lucky to have worked with two of the most passionate and perfectionist creators of all time, Raj Kapoor in his last two films as the main villain of Prem Rog and Ram Teri Ganga Maili and the last four films by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Gangubai Kathiawadi. The two great directors have one thing in common, they make their films with divine madness.
