Previously titled Bhavai, Ravan Leela is a historical drama based on religious conflict and romance. It stars Pratik Gandhi and Aindrita Ray. It follows Ram Leela’s storytelling format, but in a twisted way where Raavan is the protagonist. It purports to discuss the age-old question: Who is the culprit? Raavan or the Society? Written and directed by Hardik Gajjar, the film is set to be released on October 1. However, there are ongoing protests against the films for allegedly hurting the feelings of Hindus, so there may be a delay in the release.

Shiddat: journey beyond love
Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, Shiddat: Journey beyond love is a romantic drama. It is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Dinesh Vijan, associated with T-Series and Maddock Films. Radhika Madan, Sunny Kaushal, Mohit Raina and Diana Penty star in the film. Shiddat wrapped filming in March 2020 and planned to release in September 2020, but the release was postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film will now be released on Disney+ Hotstar on October 1.

Maidaan
Maidaan is a biographical sports film set around the lesser known and unique golden age of Indian football (1952-1962). Amit Sharma is directing the film, which is produced by Zee Studios in conjunction with Bayview Projects LLP. Starring Ajay Devgan as football manager Syed Abdul Rahim, the film is set to hit theaters worldwide on October 15, 2021, coinciding with the Dussehra weekend.

Starring critically acclaimed actress Tapsee Pannu, Rashmi Rocket is another sports drama directed by Akarsh Khurana. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Neha Anand and Prajal Khandhdiya, the film also stars Priyanshu Painyuli and Abhishek Banerjee. The film is set to premiere on the ZEE5 app on October 15. Tapsee Pannu fans are especially excited to see this movie. She worked very hard to get the stamina and body of sportsman Rashmi (her character).

Sardar Udham Singh is an upcoming biopic about Udham Singh, a revolutionary freedom fighter best known for murdering Michael O’Dwyer in London. This was done in retaliation for the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar. The film, directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by Rising Sun Films in collaboration with Kino Works, stars Vicky Kaushal as Udham Singh. The film will be released on Amazon Prime Video on October 16.
