Brilliant actor Sharad Kelkar, who is best known for his roles in ‘Tanhaji’, ‘The Family Man’ and ‘Laxmii’, will soon be seen in a movie called ‘Operation Romeo’. Financed by filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, the film will star Kelkar as an unpredictable and dishonest cop. During a recent media interaction, Sharad spoke about the project and called it one of the most important films of his career.
He told PTI: “‘Operation Romeo’ is a very important film for me as an actor. There are a lot of commercial and side films that I do, but it’s a mix of both. It’s entertaining and there’s a great subject matter. is a dark, gritty role and people haven’t seen me in that kind of role, so it’s like a reinvention. Like the last four releases are all commercial movies and have been a success and my work was appreciated. I am very grateful.
Speaking about the significance of ‘Operation Romeo’, Sharad said, “I understand that there is commercial success and critical success of a film. Until you prove your commercial success through a film, people will take the time to put money on you. In that sense, this film is important. A small film should work then trust (will be built) not only for me but also for other (actors). For Rajkummar Rao ‘Stree’ changed the game in a big way. I think ‘apna temps bhi aayega’.”
