In today’s news of unexpected but delightful cross-cultural collaborations, Bollywood bigwigs have been spending time with the prince of Saudi Arabia, reportedly at Shah Rukh Khan’s Mumbai residence, Mannat. Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan were all spotted spending time with Saudi Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Alsaud, Saudi Minister of Culture and Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, as well as Mohammed Al Turki, Chairman of the Kingdom’s Red Sea International Film Festival.
Alsaud took to Instagram and shared a series of photos from his encounter with Indian movie stars. “Thrilled to have engaged in insightful conversations about the beau monde of cinema, explored cross-cultural collaborations with Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar,” his caption read.
While these images showed a domestic environment, Al Turki confirmed the location when he posted a selfie posing alongside King Khan on the media-sharing app. The photo’s location tag was placed at actor Raees’ seaside home in Mumbai, Mannat.
Although the details of the reunion are being kept under wraps, one can only assume that it is related to the flourishing of the entertainment industry. Lately, Saudi Arabia has been keen to introduce Bollywood in the country. With Salman having played in the country last year as part of the Riyadh season on their Da-Bangg tour alongside Shilpa Shetty, Jacqueline Fernandez, Prabhu Deva, Aayush Sharma and Saiee Manjrekar, and the ongoing reunion, it looks like the doors have opened and there is room for potential collaborations.
In January 2022, the Joy Awards in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia also awarded Salman the Person of the Year. Hero Bajrangi Bhaijaan shared his achievement on Instagram with his fans. He was awarded by Saudi Royal Court Counselor and Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Alal Shikh during the ceremony.
