Actor R Madhavan’s latest movie “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” was released a few days ago. Although it failed to open with strong box office numbers, the biographical drama received critical acclaim for its direction, performances, and subject matter. On Monday, superstar Rajinikanth himself took to his Twitter account to praise the film.
Appreciating R Madhavan’s efforts to tell the story of Dr Nambi Narayanan to the world, Rajnikanth urged young people to watch the film. His statement on Twitter read, “Everyone should watch Rocketry, especially young people. To grow our country’s space research program, Padma Bhushan Nambi Narayanan has made many sacrifices and faced many hardships.”
The statement further read: “Madhavan has made a biographical film of his life. He delivered a very lived performance and in his very first film he proved he was on par with other great filmmakers. I thank you for giving us such a movie. Congratulations.
For the uninitiated, “Rocketry” is based on the life of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan who was falsely accused of treason and espionage. It took Dr Nambi Narayanan around two decades of legal battle to prove his innocence.
