However, few A-lister actors have ever rejected Imtiaz’s films. From Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor to Varun Dhawan and other Bollywood stars have rejected Imtiaz films for various reasons.
Ranbir Kapoor rejected Imtiaz’s film Highway. The actor requested that a role be specially scripted for him in the film, even as a cameo or as a guest star.
Anushka Sharma reportedly turned down Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha as the story was more focused on the male character.

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has declined Imtiaz Ali’s film based on Amar Singh Chamkila.
In the meantime, the new season of the web series ‘She’ is set to drop on Netflix on June 17 and show creator Imtiaz Ali says the story is deeply personal to him.
Speaking about the new season, Imtiaz Ali, who wrote and created the series, said, “‘She’ in the second season remains a deeply personal story even as it catapults into higher octane drama.
